GM Sheet

This is an evolving sheet containing whatnots for my GM experience, including brief notes.

1D6 Oracle

Consult the 1D6 Oracle when needing to make a decision a GM would normally make.

  1. No, and …
  2. No, but …
  3. No …
  4. Yes …
  5. Yes, but …
  6. Yes, and …

Consequences Table (1D6)

When a consequence is needing to be determined and not expressable in terms of yes or no, the consequences table is consulted.

  1. Disastrous
  2. Negative
  3. Slightly Negative
  4. Slightly Positive
  5. Positive
  6. Extraordinary

Story Generation

If ever a story is needing to be generated on the fly, use Rory’s Story Cubes. For the purposes of an RPG story, do the following:

  1. Select your dice pool made up of any combination of sets of Rory's Story Cubes.
  2. Roll the dice.
  3. Select one or more dice results.
  4. Create a story using the selected dice.
  5. Set the dice used to create the story to the side.
  6. Once all dice are used up, and if desired, put all the dice back in the dice pool and go to step 2.

The primary advantage to this approach is the potential for incremental stories and mixing genres.

World Building Made Simple

Wilona's Cave Games has this really nifty trifold document I really recommend called "World Building Made Simple". In this single sheet of paper, front and back, are several tables and a five step guide on how to build a world. Personally, I have done some of the steps in the past, but nothing like this and I find it very interesting and useful.
