Travelling RPG Compendium

Ever had trouble gathering enough role-playing materials while travelling? I know I have. In fact, my daughter has placed demands on me to do role-playing now and then while we travel. This is where the Travelling RPG Compendium comes into play! It’s four source materials. First, there is a section titled “Down with GMs”, which is a GM-less framework for role-playing games. The second section is a bite-sized, single-die, oracular role-playing game called “Backpack RPG”.

Worldwide Weavers Guild

I’ve been thinking a lot on how fragmented people are in the tabletop role-playing world. Furthermore, there is the NMRA setting forth standards and practices for model railroaders. This makes me pause and think: there needs to be something along those lines for tabletop role-playing, both as the DM/GM/Storyteller and as a player. To this end, I propose the Worldwide Weaver’s Guild. There will be local chapters utilizing the standards set aloft by the global organization.

The Inferno

The Inferno is full of the blood of battling demons. These battle demons were forced into combat by the dukes and duchesses of the hellish plane. Take on the role of a battle demon slugging it out in the Inferno for the amusement of the denizens of the hellish plane. These preliminary rules require dice from Daemon Dice (https://www.sfr-inc.com/daemondice/) and are a re-imagining of the game. Once all but one of the players have all their dice wounded, the game is over.

Hazard Games

Hazard has been described through the ages and even in Alphonso X of Castile, León, and Galicia’s Book of Games. I will describe here the different variations as they appeared in that book and other sources. For all games of hazard, two dice are needed. It should be noted there is an aspect of gambling in these games. As such, do not gamble using anything of monetary value. Instead, use tokens or candy, for example.
