I’ve been thinking a lot on how fragmented people are in the tabletop role-playing world. Furthermore, there is the NMRA setting forth standards and practices for model railroaders. This makes me pause and think: there needs to be something along those lines for tabletop role-playing, both as the DM/GM/Storyteller and as a player.
To this end, I propose the Worldwide Weaver’s Guild. There will be local chapters utilizing the standards set aloft by the global organization. However, what are the standards needing codified?
The standards needing organization will be mostly around player and, for the sake of argument, we’ll call them GM’s. There should be standards around GM, the players, and expected behaviors. There should be standards around how maps and adventures are built. Finally, there should be standards for hosting a game session.
Now, the question is who will answer the call? For now, I am and I will be setting up the local Kansas City chapter, called the Fountain City Dice Rollers!
